Zero Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is abundant in flavonoids, a group of phytochemicals that act as antioxidants.

Chocolate is made from raw cacao beans. Chocolate processing such as adding sugar and milk cuts down some of its beneficial flavanols. General rule of thumb: the darker the chocolate, the higher the flavanol content and less sugar.

Bake a loaf of this Walnut Chai bread before the party and your guests will be greeted with the warm, comforting aroma of cinnamon and cloves.

This gingerbread-brown loaf contains whole-grain flour, applesauce, egg whites and walnuts and provides plenty of fiber, but keeps calories low. (Chai is a traditional Indian beverage made with tea and spices like ginger, cinnamon and cloves.)
