Wake Up to Fruity Muesli

Apples and dried fruit dress up a healthy oats-and-yogurt mix in this week’s Health-e-Recipe for Swiss-Style Muesli.

Oats, a whole grain, provide plenty of cancer-fighting fiber. They are digested more slowly than refined grains, so they give you longer-lasting energy.

For this easy recipe, you don’t have to cook the oats – just soak them overnight to soften them. Drain them mix with dried fruit, fresh diced apple, a little honey and brown sugar, cinnamon and plain yogurt. Top with some healthy almonds, a source of vitamin E, and you’ve got a tasty dish to start your day.
