The Lighter Side of Tacos

By Posted on

This week’s Health-e-Recipe for Fish Tacos with Cabbage Slaw gives you cancer protection in every bite. And these tacos are tip top in taste.

Whole-grain tortillas enclose cabbage, cilantro, onions and tomatoes — all brimming with cancer-fighting fiber and phytochemicals. Combined with low-calorie tilapia fish, garlic and cumin, these tacos are crunchy, hot and cold all at once, with piquant lime wedges to squeeze and hot sauce’s fiery drops to liven things up.

Fish is a great substitute for higher-fat red meat (beef, pork and lamb) that increases cancer risk if you eat more than 18 ounces a week. And it’s light for a summer meal that leaves you satisfied.
