A Tangy, Tasty Stir-Fry

By Posted on

Instead of take-out, you can make cheaper and healthier Asian food with this week’s Health-e-Recipe for Zesty Asian Turkey and Mango Stir-fry.

South Asian cuisines like Vietnamese and Thai often use prepared fish sauce, which has a unique flavor. We use it in this recipe, but you can substitute light soy sauce (which is lower in sodium, too). Our dish’s Asian taste combines lime juice, garlic, ginger and scallions – all foods that have cancer-fighting phytochemicals.

Basil, cilantro and mint also figure into the potpourri of foods that fight cancer. Mango, rich in beta-carotene, is deliciously fruity in contrast with the turkey fillets and earthy spices. Enjoy this entree served over brown rice, a whole grain.
