5 Minutes to 5 Bento Breakfasts

Don’t have time to eat breakfast? Think again.

Eating breakfast is one important strategy for losing and keeping off extra weight. In the National Weight Control Registry (NWCR) study, researchers found that at least 78% of NWCR participants report eating breakfast daily. NWRC participants have lost at least 30 pounds and kept it off for at least one year. Breakfast may help curb hunger and prevent overeating later in the day. Staying a healthy weight is important for overall health and for lower cancer risk.

The five breakfasts we show include something for everyone – vegetarian, gluten-free and something a little unusual for breakfast.

Gluten free: Peanut butter on brown rice cakes, apple slices (add a cup of milk if you’d like)

Vegetarian: Hummus stuffed pita with apricots; Morning trail mix and a string cheese; Fruit and cheese wrap

Something different: Breakfast chicken salad
